I thought it would be good to start a new thread where we can post news articles we find on Egypt as it moves along the process of forming a new government.

We have someone scouring the news both on line and off line, who writes articles for our Blogs, I will post these here as well.

Hi all, I have just returned from Hurghada and I thought I would let you know how things are out there after so much bad press on the TV.

When I arrived, there was very little fuel in the petrol stations and queues especially in Cairo were reaching almost 2 miles in some cases, Hurghada wasn't as bad but still queues. Within a few days of Morsi being ousted, the queues started getting shorter, when I left I filled up with no queues at all in the Shell garage next to Hurghada Village. It has come to light, the President and Muslim Brotherhood were sending fuel to Hamas while their own people suffered, this on top of many other reasons brought 30+ million people out on to the streets to remove President Morsi.

The TV stations have not been reporting correctly either, and some of the images of children injured are in fact from Syria, they have winter clothes on and as we know it is very hot in Egypt at the moment. Likewise the apparent bombing of people praying, they all had shoes on, they remove shoes before entering the Mosque and praying. So as usual the press are stoking fires to get a good story.

All I can say is I saw no trouble in Hurghada, there were a few rallies but all peaceful and there were some Pro Morsi supporters outside the Red Sea Governate building in makeshift camps and the police had the roads closed. A few days before I left they had all realised no one was listening to them and had gone home and the roads reopened. It is the happiest I have seen the Egyptian people since the revolution 2 years ago, they all feel very optimistic over Egypt's future and the fact they want the country open to everyone no matter what religion you are.

They have fought hard to free their country twice and all they want now is support from us all in visiting and investing in their country, the Gulf States have pledged over $12 Billion in aid packages since he removal of the Muslim Brotherhood showing the new support for the country.

I could go on, but will leave it there and just say Egypt's future is looking bright, well done to the Egyptian people :D

I found this on a Facebook Page and shows how the REAL news and that portrayed by the News Channels differs, and how News Agencies like to change the facts to sell more stories/papers as we all know they do.

I am a witness to what happened at El Nahda square this morning, since I overlook the square. I am awake since 5 a.m. and have followed the events minute by minute. The police force demonstrated a very high degree of professionalism,a great deal of restraint. and a sincere concern for human lives including those demonstrators who showed the police and army no mercy. I cannot stand to listen to the news coverage of CNN or BBCworld or Sky news. who are showing pictures of those criminal demonstrators with machine guns , weapons, and their snipers on rooftops and claiming that these are the police force shooting at unarmed helpless demonstrators.? Are they that biased that they can so flagrantly twist the truth? or do they think that all these cameras and reporters covering the events are blind? Wake up. You are losing your credibility......Do you not hear of all the arms and ammunition found among these peaceful demonstrators??????? Do you not hear of the dead, tortured bodies found buried in and around El Nahda square and Rabaa traffic light? Or how they terrorised the lives of the residents of Rabaa and made their life hell????? would you accept that to happen to your neighbourhood and then tell me "'PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATORS?????????????" Go back to being the respected news channel that we all once enjoyed watching. I hope that somehow this testament will reach you eyes and ears, and for the record the army did not fire any shots . either.

Egyptians return to the voting stations today in a two day referendum on a new constitution that could pave the way for new elections. General Sisi who oversaw the ousting of Mohamed Morsi, is considering standing for president as he seems to have the backing of the majority of Egyptians. I see this as a backwards step because it is going back to an ex military president but I think the Egyptians feel safer under the military rule after what happened with the Muslim Brotherhood.
